InterCoast in AI Assistants

What the app does

The InterCoast Colleges app lets an AI assistant look up our programs, campuses and upcoming start dates directly from InterCoast, along with tuition, admission requirements, policies and fees from our Program & Policy Guide. The answers come from the same information published on InterCoast.edu, with links to each program page, its School Performance Fact Sheet and the printed catalog pages each policy comes from.

Questions you can ask:

• Which InterCoast programs can I take online?
• What HVAC training is offered near Riverside, and when is the next start date?
• How long is the Electrical Training Program, and is it eligible for financial aid?
• What is the address and phone number of the Fairfield campus?
• How much is tuition for the HVAC Technician program?
• What do I need to apply, and what is the refund policy?

The app only answers questions. It does not ask for or collect personal information. To talk with admissions, call (877) CAREERS or request information.

Finding the app

We are listing the app in the ChatGPT app directory and in Claude's connector directory under the name InterCoast Colleges. Once it is listed, search for "InterCoast" in either directory, or the assistant may suggest the app when you ask about trade or counseling programs in California.

Developers and other assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP) can connect to the app directly at https://www.intercoast.edu/api/mcp. It needs no sign-in or API key.

What the app can look up

• About InterCoast Colleges: Accreditation, approval to operate, campuses, admissions phone and key links for InterCoast Colleges. Call this first for general questions about the college.
• List programs: All InterCoast programs with credential, delivery and campuses. Optionally filter by category (skilled trades, behavioral health, business) or by campus (a campus name, a city, or "online").
• Get program details: Catalog details for one program: credential, hours and credits, length in weeks, financial aid eligibility, California-only limits, where it is offered, School Performance Fact Sheet links and the next start dates.
• List campuses: Every InterCoast campus with address, phone and the programs offered there, plus online programs.
• Get campus details: One campus: address, phone, map link and each program offered there with how it is delivered.
• Next start dates: Upcoming published start dates (YYYY-MM-DD, California) for one program; the same dates apply at every campus that offers it.
• Search the Program & Policy Guide: Find pages in the InterCoast Program & Policy Guide, built from the printed school catalog: tuition and fees, admissions requirements, attendance, grading, refunds, financial aid, student services, courses and other policies. Returns page ids to read with get_guide_page.
• Read a Program & Policy Guide page: The full text of one Program & Policy Guide page, with the printed catalog pages it cites, its source and its link.
• Get program tuition: A program's tuition and charges exactly as the school catalog's schedule of tuition charges prints them, with the printed catalog page and source.

Every tool only reads published information. None of them changes anything or sends anything to InterCoast.

Accuracy

The app returns program, campus, tuition and policy information exactly as InterCoast publishes it, with the printed catalog pages it comes from. The assistant writes its own reply around those facts, so always check costs, outcomes and requirements on the program page and its School Performance Fact Sheet, or with admissions, before you make a decision.

Privacy

The app receives only the text the assistant sends in each lookup, such as a program name or a question about a policy, and does not record it. The app asks the assistant to leave your name and contact details out of every lookup. Your conversation is handled by the company that provides the assistant.
